Head cold

I recently went to Colorado. I wanted to run everyday in the altitude. I ran the first day 3 1/2 miles. It was really tough! My lungs felt like they may explode...that was the one and only day i ran. We kept extremely busy, were up late at night and the altitude got the best of me causing me to be really nauseated and get lots of headaches. Amazing how walking around in the mountains makes you feel like you are extremely out of shape!

Anyway, on the way back from CO i started getting a head cold. I have been fighting sinus congestion and headaches for the past week and have pretty much felt like i could barely get through my days let a lone go for a run. I have been living on advil cold and sinus every 4 hrs for the past 5 days!

I have 7 weeks till my half-marathon so i was getting a bit frustrated with feeling yucky cause i need to get to my training (cause needless to say there was no 8 mile run in CO accomplished!).
Today i decided i was going for a run whether i was feeling better or not...fortunately i have only taken 1 dose today and can still breathe...i went for my run and you tell me why after not running for over a week and still having a head cold why it was the best i have felt on a run in quite some time!

We are just going to tack it up to the chocolate shake i had earlier or maybe the fact that it was under 90 degrees...yeah that may have to do something with it.

7 weeks to go!

And hopefully this head cold is going to take a hike for good!
